Auto Dealership jobs are not as popular anymore among Canadians

An Abacus Data survey revealed that millennials (people among the ages of 18-37) are not interested on working in an auto dealership in Canada.

Vehicle sales have reached a record high last year, and the trend is expected to continue. Even with this information out there, only one quarter of the people who participated on the survey, said they have considered working in different areas in an auto dealership. Seems like millennials are interested in other type of employment outside of the automotive sales industry.

Women were less interested in pursuing a career in the auto dealership industry. The increase on sales in the automotive industry has created new opportunities in areas like marketing, sales, IT, service, sales and management roles within the dealerships. In Canada there are more than 3,200 car and truck dealerships, employing about 150,000 people.

This online survey was responded by 2,000 millennials and it was conducted Dec. 22 to Jan. 8. The margin of error for a comparable probability-based random sample of the same size is considered accurate plus or minus 2.6 per cent, 19 times out of 20.

More up for electric trucks... Volvo Trucks are in!

Volvo Trucks are stepping in to the electric truck game. They have announced that starting next year, companies and individuals will be able to get a Volvo electric truck. Volvo Trucks will begin to sell these in Europe next year.
“Electromobility is fully in line with Volvo Trucks’ long-term commitment to sustainable urban development and zero emissions,” said Göran Nyberg, president of Volvo Trucks North America. “By using electrically powered and quieter trucks for goods transport in urban areas, we meet several challenges simultaneously. Without disturbing noise and exhaust gases, it will be possible to operate in more sensitive city centers. Transport may also take place throughout less busy periods, for example in late evening and at night. This will reduce the burden on the roads during daytime rush-hour traffic, allowing both the road network and vehicles to be utilized far more effectively than today.

Urban distribution and other pick-up and delivery applications are a sta…

by Ship My Ride Staff
Winter is upon us. As Canadians we are used to the snow on our doorway, but what about driving through harsh winter conditions?

He have done some research, and asked our drivers and staff about the best tips for driving on this winter weather.

Here are the best advice we got from our staff, we consider all these tips to be important and very useful:

Don’t speed, take your time. Try to drive at the legal speed limit, but slow down when you see icy or snow covered roads. Leave room between your vehicle and the vehicle in front of you and the vehicles next to you.Do not use tail lights of a vehicle as a reference for distance. When snow starts falling, visibility is low. This means that if you are able to see the lights of the vehicle in front of you, you are probably to close. Know your driving limits. Be able to recognize which weather conditions are too severe for your experience on driving. If you have to stop, STOP. It’s better to stop and keep yourself and the…

Brand new Mercedes-Benz AMG C63 S

Brabus, one of the most famous tuners when it comes to Mercedes-Benz cars, decided to extract even more horsepower from the 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo that come with the AMG C63 S.
To achieve this, they have switch to the B40-600 PowerXtra power kit that allows the car to generate the extra 88 hp, thus the total power of this coupé is a whopping 591 hp. Additionally, the torque has increased by 73 pound-feet of torque to reach an earth shattering 590 ft-lbs.
With this big change in the heart of the C63 AMG S, stepping on the throttle pedal will take you from 0-100 km / h in 3.8 seconds,  achieving a top speed of 300 km / h while at it. In addition to these mechanical changes, Brabus also worked on the body of the C63 in order to substantially improve aerodynamics.
If one looks at the list of new component highlights, the redesign of the front fascia with larger air inlets, a splitter, a diffuser and a rear spoiler carbon fiber immediately pop to grab your attention, the car looks amazing.
